Originally, The Northgate Group, was a weekend warrior. In 2003 we took on our first project; a 1940's house on Northgate Street in Durham that my grandparents had lovingly called home since they were married. Our low budget provided for two workers; my husband and myself. Fortunately, our family was willing to share their expertise, and we were able to talk friends with know-how into spending a day working with us for a free lunch.
After this first renovation we decided to form The Northgate Group, LLC. named in honor of the home where my grandparents lived their lives. We have grown into a company of 23 full time team members and together have gone on to completely restore historic homes, revive old shopping centers, upfit restaurants, create and recreate commercial spaces as well as ground up construction of homes, recreation centers, offices and restaurants. What hasn’t changed is our drive and determination from that of our weekend warrior days.
The Northgate Group is truly a family company. We live, work, and play together. For our clients, this means a seamless team working on their new restaurant, hotel, historic home, or dynamic office space. We partner with architects, space planners, and designers to tailor projects to your specific needs with well thought-out spaces. We take pride in our projects and enjoy the relationship that develops with clients during the process; we’ve been exceeding expectations since 2003.
