House of Many Porches
Charming Victorian Cottage
The House of Many Porches is a charming Victorian cottage built in 1898 and was one of the oldest houses on the former Dix hospital campus.
The initial phase of its renovation paid homage to its heritage, focusing on preserving and enhancing its authentic features. Our work entailed new pine siding, fresh paint throughout, refreshing existing oak floors, reglazing all windows, as well as adding a new mechanical system, and new electrical and plumbing.
In addition, we constructed two new ADA restrooms, installed new beautiful mahogany exterior wood doors, refurbished the old slate roof, enhanced exterior elevations with copper gutters and downspouts, and brought new life to the beautiful porches period-appropriate paints and intricate details.
We are currently working on the second half of this renovation so stay tuned for new pictures and updates.
