Dix Park Historic Houses

Cherished Landmarks

A 16-month project to restore the original Historic Dix Houses, located at the old Dorothea Dix hospital campus. Built in the 1920s, the Superintendent House, Physician's House, and the Gatekeeper’s Cottage served as housing for the hospital superintendent and living quarters for doctors and nurses. They have now been beautifully and carefully transformed into new office and classroom spaces as well as a welcome center. The goal was to provide modern amenities while keeping the integrity and history of the building intact. These homes are a testament to our dedication to preserving history while embracing the future. It has been an honor to breathe new life into these cherished landmarks, celebrating both their historical significance and architectural beauty.
